The Driving Force...

GAP Training is headed by three partners, Garry Geraghty, Maggie Geraghty and Frank McCoey. Garry and Frank have, between them, over thirty years’ experience of working in the public transport industry, from bus conductor to operations manager. Over the past two years we have become established as one of the leading providers of NVQ training in the industry, working with some of the major names in public transport provision.

Our experience and knowledge of the industry means that we understand the pressures of the day to day running of a transport operation. That is why we are committed to providing high quality, customer led training that meets the needs of employers. This is why we operate peripatetically; we come to you and we carry out our training to your timetable to minimise disruption to your operation.

We ensure we stay up to date with all the changes that affect road passenger transport. We take our occupational competence so seriously that we also run our own minibus company *, which specialises in providing accessible minibus transport.

We have devised a series of candidate workbooks and a self-build package to accompany the NVQ qualification in Driving Passenger Carrying Vehicles (Level 2). Both have proved highly successful with realistic achievement times of twelve weeks from registration to completion.

We work in partnership with other training providers and colleges to provide funded training, via Train to Gain, in Yorkshire & Humberside, North East England, London, the South West and The West and East Midlands. Train to Gain funding offers FREE training to eligible candidates.
